Moxa’s new 65M firewall module turns the ioPAC 6500 RTU controller into a secured network node, with firewall, VPN and routing built into the control system – no separate firewall box needed.
Firewall, VPN and redundancy in one module
The 65M-5621-CT-T slots into the modular ioPAC 6500 like any other module, tool-free and hot-swappable. It inspects industrial traffic down to protocol level, so only permitted commands reach the controller and the field devices behind it.
- Stateful firewall in router or transparent bridge mode, with optional intrusion prevention via an IPS licence
- Deep packet inspection for Modbus TCP, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850 MMS, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP and Siemens S7
- Up to 50 IPsec VPN tunnels, NAT, OSPF and RIP routing and VRRP
- 4 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 2 SFP slots with Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain and RSTP for redundant networks
Rated down to −40 °C and conformally coated, it suits unmanned sites such as substations, water and wastewater plants, oil and gas and other remote RTU installations. As NIS2 raises cyber security demands on critical infrastructure in Europe, segmenting the network at the controller is an efficient way to protect older field devices.
Configured and tested by SCN
SCN can load firmware and your configuration files, set IP addresses and verify the function with Moxa tools before delivery, so the ioPAC 6500 arrives ready to install. Our network and cyber security engineers help you choose the right setup and support troubleshooting and integration into existing networks.
